EPS Logistics Technology have been proud sponsors of Borden Village Football Club for the past decade, a period that has seen the team achieve its biggest successes to date.

This is a side that has been at the heart of village life for more than a century and is one of the oldest in the Kent County Football Association, winning the Kent FA Premier League in a nail-biting finish just two years ago.

As Ian Williams, the club’s chairman recalls, that was quite the result. “We’d not had the best start to the season and then won 20 games on the bounce. It all came down to the last game with a 0-0 draw enough to win us the league,” he said.

It was also quite the celebration and an incredible achievement for a village club that has thrived since joining the Kent County League back in 1999 and has consistently performed to the highest standards. Year after year Borden FC are one of the teams to watch, in part thanks to the support they receive both on and off the pitch.

The likes of Liverpool and Manchester City – seven tiers up the football pyramid might win on resources and – at a push – crowd size, but this is a side that for its loyal band of supporters tops the league every time.

It’s that sense of community that EPS Logistics Technology valued when it signed up as a sponsor to help this talented team to bring the village together 34 times a year – or more with a decent cup run.

Running a side like Borden FC doesn’t come cheap and the £10,000 and more that EPS Logistics Technology has donated has played a huge part in the club’s success in the league over the past decade.

“From paying for match day officials and the upkeep of the ground to players’ home and away strips, the funding we receive from sponsors really goes a long way to keeping us going,” Ian says.

“Without the help of companies like EPS, we’d be stuck really and so we’re incredibly grateful for their support. We can’t thank them enough.”
